Biografía

Biografía a los pedos. Nací el 18 de octubre de 1970, en Merlo, provincia de Buenos Aires. El número de mi casa en merlo es 1370. Mi mamá dice que es el día en el que fui concebido: 1-3-70. Eso significaría que nací con 7 meses y 18 días. En el camino al hospital mi tío chocó el Renault Gordini, pero no hubo heridos. Mi tío murió joven, hace unos años. Murió en la Clínica Bazterrica y yo fui el encargado de acompañar el cadáver en una ambulancia, hasta Merlo. No me acuerdo del viaje, aunque debería. Recién ahora, escribiendo esto, me doy cuenta de la simetría, mi tío llevando a mi vieja a que me pariera, yo acompañando a mi tío muerto.

Nací, fue complicado, no respiré por unos cuantos minutos. A mi mamá le dijeron que tendría problemas. Mi mamá preguntó que problemas: deficiente mental o problemas psiquiátricos. Me encanta contar esa historia. Tengo dos hermanas mayores. Mi viejo era panadero y Merlo estaba llena de baldíos y calles de tierra. Me acuerdo de ir a tomar helado a la avenida. Casi nada más. La casa de mis abuelos estaba comunicada con la nuestra. Mi abuela Lala era del campo. Mi abuelo era albañil. Me acuerdo del olor a transpiración de ambos. También del olor a milanesas y a arroz con leche y a manzanas asadas. También me acuerdo que la mesa de la casa de la cocina tenía patas de hierro. En esas patas de hierro había un anillo de otro color o de otro material, que si tirabas con fuerza se desprendía. Me acuerdo de estar sentado debajo de la mesa, con los muslos contra el mosaico frío y de deslizar ese anillo metálico hacia arriba y abajo en la pata de chapa. Esa mesa los acompañó siempre. Los muebles de mis abuelos, todos los muebles, duraron toda la vida que yo les conocí. Por eso el escenario me borra a los personajes, la misma mesada oscura, los mismos aparadores torcidos. Incluso los platos nunca se rompían. Todo duraba en esa casa.

Mis hermanas compartían una habitación, yo dormía en el living, en un sofá. Me acuerdo de la cuerina, del contacto frío con la cuerina negra. Y de cómo quedaba tatuada la forma de mis muslos cuando me sentaba en verano. Creo recordar también el gusto de la cuerina, creo que la lamía. No importa. Ahora me acuerdo que antes de cuerina esa goma espuma, ese colchón estaba recubierta por una tela amarilla, cuadrillé. Se rompió en algunas partes, me acuerdo de los agujeros, de meter el dedo, de arrancar grumos de goma espuma, de mi mamá retándome, pero sin poder confirmar si había sido yo.

Cada vez que tocaban el timbre y había que hacerlos pasar mi mamá me sacaba de la cama y me hacía esperar en el pasillo. Recostado contra la pared, escuchaba las conversaciones pero no seguía las ideas, solo escuchaba las palabras. Me acuerdo del living, había un Winco y muy pocos discos: Roberto Carlos, Los Beatles, Palito Ortega, Nicola DiBari y alguna de esas colecciones de canciones de amor con una chica en bikini en la tapa. Me acuerdo de ese tocadisco. Me acuerdo cuando mi hermana cumplió 15 años. Creo que fue la mayor. No hubo guita para ninguna fiesta, así que vinieron un par de amigos de mi hermana a casa. Creo que pusieron discos en el Winco. Tengo como un recuerdo de un recuerdo de eso. Sé que alguna vez vi bailar a alguien en ese living, que no fui yo o mis hermanas. Fue una sola vez.

La fórmica naranja. De eso también me acuerdo. Me acordé el otro día y me parece importante, aunque no sé por qué. Los aparadores de la cocina de mi casa eran de fórmica naranja. Ninguna puerta cerraba bien y todas rechinaban y todas estaban medio torcidas, por eso la fórmica de casi todas las esquinas estaba arrancada. No sé por qué, pero eso es importante.

Me acordé de pronto: un compañero de primara. Miguel Ángel Contrinari. Y otro creo que se llamaba Velez, de apellido. Contrinari vivía lejísimo, su padre lo iba a buscar en un auto todo despintado. Nunca vi un auto despintado de esa manera, estaba manchado, despintado. Me invitó a su casa y ahí me di cuenta de algo: todos eran gordos y de piel oscura. Hasta ese momento no me había dado cuenta de eso, de que tenía la piel oscuro, de que transpiraba mucho. Pero fui a la casa y la madre era muy gorda, más gorda que él o que el padre (que nunca salía del auto, que le hacía una señal con la mano para que se metiera en el auto despintado). Vivían por Ferrari o algo así. Miguel era el mejor del grado y era amigo mío, pero no me acuerdo nada de él. Era bueno, eso me acuerdo. De toda esa época solo me acuerdo que yo era bueno y mis amigos también. No entendía la maldad en esa época, nunca la entendí y lo raro es que vivía en un mundo libre de ella. O no sé, no puedo recordar nadie malo. Solo recuerdo a compañeras agarrándose de los pelos. Piazalle se llamaba una. Maldonado, Andrea, era machona. Petisa, linda, machona.

No sé a qué edad mi mamá me dejó jugar con otros chicos del barrio. Ahí empezó otra vida. En la esquina, en la calle, en el campito. Las rodillas lastimadas, las piernas picadas por bichos. Ya no me gustaba el fútbol, ya buscaba instintivamente a los líderes del grupo y los seducía convirtiéndome en mascota protegida, aunque nunca fui servil. Me decían Chingolo. Creo que era porque corría rápido. No entiendo la lógica, pero me acuerdo que me decían Chingolo y yo corría. Pero el apodo no duró. Después me dijeron Opalino. No sé por qué. Después acortaron el apodo a Opa, pero no duró tampoco.

Creo que por esa época le tiré sin querer el chocolate caliente encima a la vecina en su fiesta de cumpleaños. Fue sin querer. Los de al lado tenían un quiosco, así que durante meses yo fui al quiosco y veía a la vecina con el brazo vendado. No me acuerdo como me miraba. Después, al hermano de esa vecina, le rompí el diente del medio de un rulerazo. Eso sí fue a propósito. Mi hermana y él andaban todo el tiempo en la bicicleta, una Miniroda. No me dejaban usarla. Mi hermana lo llevaba a Daniel, el vecino, en el asiento de atrás, y se reían a carcajadas y se burlaban de mí que los corría, Chingolito, y les pedía que me dejen andar. Le apunté con el rulero a esa sonrisa y le partí el diente y la sonrisa. Hay otra cosa que me acuerdo del vecino. Fue uno de los primeros hombres que vi desnudo en mi vida. O quizás no. Fue en un club, o en una quinta. En el vestuario, cuando nos cambiábamos lo vi. Me acuerdo de él solo, aunque había otros también desnudos. Era muy peludo en la ingle, el resto no, quizás por eso me acuerdo.

Otros accidentes: me hamaqué en una silla y caí de pera, me dieron tres puntos. Me dijeron que me iban a coser y yo pregunté si me coserían con máquina (mi mamá tenía una Singer). Mi hermana se metía piedras en la nariz, una vez se metió una hasta la ceja.

Enfrente de mi casa hubo una vez una fábrica de azufre. Esto también es importante, como lo de la fórmica saltada en las esquinas. Después demolieron esa fábrica de azufre y había un gigantesco galpón de chapa. Me acuerdo de eso, de la chapa acanalada. De que le tirábamos piedras a ese galpón, de la chapa abollada. Esa fábrica de azufre. Después tiraron abajo la fábrica y quedó solo una casa rara, antigua, siniestra. En el horizonte, de noche, la casa era una invitación siniestra. Se decía que estaba embrujada. Me acuerdo de los pozos que había en ese terreno, donde había estado la fábrica. Nos metíamos en esos pozos, yo me metía. La tierra tenía venas anaranjadas o verdosas, manchas, estaba caliente, quemaba. Arrancábamos piedras de esos pozos y escribíamos en el asfalto. Dibujábamos pijas y conchas y pistas de autos y patos donalds (yo practiqué el pato donald durante días hasta que me salió bien, aunque me salía mejor Minnie, tenía un moño ella).

El edificio del colegio era viejo, tenía pisos de maderas, ventanas con postigos. Me acuerdo de los postigos cerrados, de los pisos que chirriaban (cuántas cosas chirriaban en esa época). El piso de madera tenía hendijas, agujeros. Tirábamos lápices o gomas o pedazos de comida y al día siguiente habían desaparecido, había ratas, pero nunca vimos ninguna. El piso del patio raspaba. Jugábamos a las bolitas. Mi tío había sido campeón legendario de bolitas, nadie jugaba como él. Tenía latas llenas de bolitas en el estante de arriba del ropero. A veces me regalaba algunas.

Ahora me acuerdo de todo esto. Algunas cosas no las recordaba hasta que me puse a escribir, en esta habitación a oscuras. Y siento que una vez que cuente todo esto, no voy a tener nada más para decir, porque la verdad, no hay mucho más. Pero si no hay nada más no importa. Y pienso un ratito en eso, en eso de escribir, de contarme de nuevo esta historia que tengo miedo que se esté borrando. Y mientras pienso siento una leve caricia en el empeine del pie. Debe ser el viento del ventilador, debe ser que en la oscuridad el tacto se enrarece. Enciendo la luz. Hay una cucaracha gigante entre mis pies. Mueve apenas las antenas, está esperando, sabe que algo va a pasar.

Me gusta mucho esta biografía. Te salió fresca y de un tirón. La vas a continuar? No creo que haya que preocuparse, cada vez que te sientes a escribir vas a recordar algo nuevo. Tenemos miles de historias en nuestras cabezas.

Recordar, recordar... pasados los 35, se nos hace un poco más difícil y provoca una nostalgia cada vez mayor... dejar asentados por escrito esos recuerdos es un ejercicio casi necesario a esta edad, que hay que concretarlo antes de que se transformen en algo borroso.

Solo me extrañó no encontrar referencias a lecturas (libros o historietas), programas de televisión, o si coleccionabas estampillas o monedas, o si había un cine cercano. Tampoco si había una radio; ni acontecimientos. Solo una mención a discos que enmarcan temporalemnete la historia.

La ironía. La ironía, la frescura y una clase de humor tan parecido al mío. Esas son las cosas que más me gustan de tu estilo narrativo. Pero tu ironía es infernal, sutil, filosa.

Cuando mi mujer me dice que soy irónico, me lo dice en forma despectiva, como una crítica. Pero yo lo considero una virtud. Quizás sea una virtud de mierda, pero es una virtud al fin.

Nada, solo sumarme a las flores que te han tirado los comentaristas anteriores...
Las biografias o textos vivenciales, todo lo que hable o refleje la vida, se tranforma en un inmenso e impresionante caudal de joyitas, de tesoros, que son imperpetuables..
Particularmente creo que deternos y hacer memoria de los acontecimientos, de nuestro paso por esta vida, es una verdadera inversión... en un punto, estén o no de acuerdo y salvando las distancias, es semejante al psicoanalisis... vamos a hacer memoria, recordar, volver a pasar por el corazón, los hechos y vivencias de la infancia, de la adolescencia, de la vida, para mejorar el futuro...
Que bueno que aún, en este mundo, en estas epocas, nos animemos a expresar esto que somos, esto que vivimos, esto que fuimos y por qué no, lo que queremos ser...
Xtian, nada asegura que volveré a leerte, pero importante, como la formica naranja, haber pasado por acá y leido tu BIOGRAFIA!
